In this place we're surrounded by memories of other times, we breathe histories of different ages, where the garden was the chosen place by the members of the upper class. In other times, music, good lighting and the ladies taking a walk completed the colours of this place, much esteemed by the city's inhabitants who frequent it and chose it for several celebration events.

Nowadays, it is still a very pleasant and visited place, mainly by the city's elders who meet here for long chats, as well as by the children who come accompanied by their parents to have a pleasant time at the park.

The garden is embedded in the urban milieu, blending in green and leisure spaces, all resulting in an enrichment of the entire place.

A series of serpent-like paths leads us to the terrace-bar and the children's playground, located at the garden's edge, ending in a spacious straight avenue along which benches are placed, creating recreation areas and a sort of gazebo in the fair field.

Going through the gravel paths, slightly shaded by some exotic specimen as araucariae, palms and camelias, we find a small lake and a kiosk, and, at the same time, we may observe the bush bordered flowerbeds decorated with the lively colours of the season's flowers.

In this garden we may still find the bust of António Nobre, poet of Penafiel, and the bust of Egas Moniz, with a rope to his neck in memory of his journey to Toledo, reminding visitors that D. Afonso Henriques' manservant is buried in this municipality.

Overall, the environment, overshadowed by great old trees, is reclusive and comfortable, becoming a pleasant place to stay.
